Position Classification: Program Specialist
Working Title: Intake/Case Manager
The primary purpose of the position is to provide financial assistance for housing.
 
Duties include application screening, interviewing, explaining program requirements, consulting and collaborating with clients to find housing, facilitating rental transactions recommending the expenditure of grant funds, completing forms and reports, developing case files, participating in outreach activities, and entering information in various databases, particularly the Homeless Management Information System. The position requires occasional fieldwork to inspect housing and to work in partnership with other organizations. Qualifications include the ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally, the ability to interpret complex regulations, experience interviewing clients and maintaining confidentiality, ability to establish and maintain interagency partnerships, ability to create thorough and accurate case files, ability to multi-task, and ability to become
proficient in a cloud-based information technology system.

This position is funded by a N.C. Emergency Solutions Grant. The grant period is January–December 2020. The organization will seek to continue funding of the position but cannot make a commitment beyond December 2020.
