Who says Christmas only comes once a year? Celebrate the spirit of giving at Christmas in July and help make the holiday season brighter for local children in need!
Throughout the month of July, we invite our community to spread a little early Christmas cheer by donating a new, unwrapped toy at one of our convenient participating business drop-off locations (details coming soon). Every toy collected will help support the Onslow Christmas Cheer Program, bringing joy, hope, and smiles to children and families across our community this holiday season.

Chili Cook-Off

We’re calling all Chili Chefs of all levels to compete for bragging rights and championship glory. Join us at the Onslow Community Outreach parking lot for a sizzling showdown. A panel of local judges will sample each entry, score the heat and creativity, and determine who truly brings the best bowl of chili in Onslow County and be crowned Judges’ Choice. The community is invited to come taste, sample, and vote for their favorite chili in the People’s Choice competition!
Whether you go smoky, spicy, sweet, or five-alarm fire, this is your moment to ladle up something unforgettable. Prizes, bragging rights, and chili-fueled victory await. Hosted by Onslow Community Outreach, supporting our local homeless shelter and community programs. Grab your apron. Perfect your recipe. And get ready to bring the heat. More details to come!

Lace up your running shoes and join us for the Turkey Trot, a fun-filled Thanksgiving tradition benefiting the Onslow Community Outreach Homeless Shelter! Whether you’re a seasoned runner, casual walker, or bringing the whole family for some holiday fun, this festive event is the perfect way to kick off Thanksgiving morning.
Participants will enjoy a spirited race atmosphere, community fellowship, and the opportunity to make a meaningful difference for neighbors in need. Come dressed in your favorite Thanksgiving-themed attire and compete for bragging rights while supporting a great cause.
Gather your friends and family, burn a few calories before the big feast, and help us make this holiday season brighter for those we serve. Every step you take helps provide shelter, hope, and support to individuals experiencing homelessness in our community.
Onslow Christmas Cheer
Helping Local Families In Need At Christmas For Over 50 Years
The Onslow Christmas Cheer is a vital community program that has demonstrated our community’s generosity and charitable spirit over the holidays. Our Christmas Cheer program helps provide Christmas meals and gifts for those families that struggle to afford these things. Depending entirely on the charity and goodwill of our community, we seek to make sure as many families in our community can have a special Christmas. For families that qualify, Christmas Cheer offers food for the entire household, gifts for children up to 12, and, if resources are available, help teenagers up to 17 year olds. All donations to the Onslow Christmas Cheer will be used for families in need.
